Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
In addition to your doctor, your Care Team will include a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant. These professionals, also all women, provide a full range of health care services and play an integral role in your care at Women First.
Your Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant gets to know you well and is often the provider you’ll turn to for routine care or if you ever need a same-day appointment. Partnering with our physicians, our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants see their own patients for annual exams and follow-up, as well as problem visits. Some of them have special interests in clinical areas such as vulvovaginal problems and lactation counseling, offering invaluable services that help us achieve the full circle of care for our patients. All of them take the time to learn about you, your family, and your needs—making them an important part of your personal Care Team.
Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have also obtained a masters or doctorate degree in a specialty area of nursing. Physician Assistants are health care professionals with a masters or doctorate degree trained under the medical model who are nationally certified to practice medicine as part of a physician-led team.
