One treatment for overactive bladder symptoms, including loss of bladder control (incontinence), is Botox. Despite the reputation of Botox as a facial treatment, it’s also a prescription medication for incontinence due to an overactive bladder. In this procedure, which takes about 30 minutes in the Women First office, Botox is injected into the bladder during cystoscopy. The injection can last for up to eight months, helping control symptoms and urinary incontinence with minimal side effects.
